What It Is
The Problem
A hotel managing housekeeping and maintenance teams had no central system for staff to log room cleaning progress, report maintenance issues, or mark tasks complete. Managers had no real time visibility into what was happening across the property and relied on verbal updates or manual logs.
How I Solved It
Built a Python Telegram bot with role based access for staff and admins. Staff log cleaning progress, report maintenance issues with priority levels, and mark tasks complete directly in Telegram through an interactive button interface. All actions sync instantly to Google Sheets with timestamps and staff attribution. Admins receive real time notifications on every action and can generate daily and weekly performance reports including top performer rankings. Staff management including adding, removing, and listing team members is handled entirely through the bot.
The Impact
Gave hotel management real time visibility into all staff activity without leaving Telegram. Eliminated verbal check ins and manual logging. Weekly performance reports with top performer rankings created accountability across the team.
